DUI/DWI Defense
When you have been arrested for drinking and driving, the charges can vary, from a misdemeanor to a felony, based on the results of your blood alcohol test. Arizona mandates a 10 day jail sentence for conviction of drunk driving, although in some instances, I may be able to get you into a diversion program.
If you have been charged with drunk driving, I will thoroughly evaluate all of the evidence in an effort to knock down the charges or get them dismissed altogether. I will examine the stop to determine whether the arresting officer had probable cause to pull you over. I will review the police reports and question witnesses to verify that you received all mandatory warnings before you made any statements.
I will also confirm that field sobriety and blood alcohol tests were properly administered. If there are any irregularities, I will seek to exclude the evidence and/or dismiss the charges.
Drug Charges
In my drug defense practice, I represent individuals who have been charged with possession, distribution or the intent to distribute drugs, which the state can infer from the possession of a large quantity of controlled substances. While most of the cases I handle involve possession or distribution of marijuana, I also work with clients who have been charged with drug crimes involving cocaine, crystal meth and ecstasy, among others.
I have worked in the local courts long enough to know the prosecutors and how they prepare their cases. I understand when it's in your best interests to seek a plea bargain and when you want to take a case to trial.
